- NCTE is devoted to improving the teaching and learning of English and the language arts at all levels of education. The website provides educators interested in the area of adolescent literacy in the English language arts classroom with an array of resources (e.g., books, journal, lesson plans, etc.), and much more.
- National Council for the Social Studies--http://www.ncss.org/
- NCSS is an association devoted to advocating social studies at all levels of education. The website provides educators with resources including lesson plans, curriculum standards, and even opportunities for professional development.
- Common Core State Standards and Essential Standards--http://www.dpi.state.nc.us/acre/standards/
- These standards provide adolescents with a high-quality education. The standards were developed to provide a clear and consistent framework to prepare adolescents for college education and career opportunities.
- Wikispaces--http://www.wikispaces.com
- Wikispaces is a Web 2.0 tool that can be used in and out of the classroom. A wiki is an online resource similar to a website that allows users to add and edit content collectively.
- Prezi- The Zooming Presentation Editor--http://www.prezi.com
- Prezi is a presentation software with a zoomable canvas that makes it fun to explore ideas and make connections between them. The tool enables users to create visually captivating presentations for any audience.
- Flocabulary--http://www.flocabulary.com
- Flocabulary creates hip-hop music and curricular materials to teach grades K-12. The founders of flocabulary strongly believe that a motivated student is a more successful student. As an educational hip-hop website, flocabulary provides educators with resources to go alongside with the music (e.g., missing lyrics, lesson plans, tests, etc.). These resources are offered through a digital subscription, and through books and CDs.
